Last photoset of this Worlds :(
Easter Sunday our team danced. I feel so privileged to know these guys and gals and see how hard they work week after week. It’s difficult to say what I want to say in 10 photos, because I’m trying to sum up more than a year of sweat, tears and hard work.
They danced so beautifully I cried, and although it was disappointing not to get the recall, I was sure they were close. When I saw final results, they flat out got a score they didn’t deserve. I don’t really like to say that often, because I know I’m biased and the judges have many years more experience than I do, but I watched the whole comp and I think going early in the rotation hurt them. There were teams that ended up higher up on the final results that simply didn’t outdance them. (The team that ended up last didn’t deserve that placing either, and they danced first, right before us.)
However, the team isn’t going to let one day define them, and they’re already talking about Worlds 2015 (NAN’s is out due to a judging conflict.) I’m looking forward to another year of hard work and improvement—and hopefully, after my foot heals, practicing with them!
Watch out, Montreal—Team Platypi is coming for you.
